A great project that centres around the film Pay it Forward (not essential to watch, but makes for nice class discussions and gives them ideas). We usually do this around April to coincide with the global Pay it Forward Day. But can be done at any time of the year and would be particularly nice in the run up to Christmas. It is meant to last 100 minutes, but the final documentary is 30 minutes long and due to the nature of the topic students have a lot of questions/debate so it took me longer than a double lesson to teach this. Centres around the film Wall:E. As most children have seen this you probably won’t need to show the whole film (but is nice if you have a reward afternoon). The idea of the project is for the students to become advocates of something that will help the world and to create a campaign to stop it from happening e.g. preventing litter in school, raising awareness about water use.
